Hi, I’m Sharon, founder of Knots About Macrame.

In June 2022 whilst in a craft store, I saw a plant hanger on display and decided to book onto a workshop to learn how to make one. Macrame soon became a passion that I wanted to share with others. So, I ‘retired’ from my job in March 2023 and set up Knots About Macrame.

Today, I pour that passion into two things I love equally: creating beautiful handmade pieces and teaching others how to make them.

Every product I design is crafted with care, intention, and a love for texture and detail. From wall hangings to plant hangers, each piece is made to bring warmth, softness, and a touch of handcrafted charm to your home.

Macramé is more than a craft to me — it’s a way to connect, create, and inspire. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge, so alongside my work as a maker, I also teach macrame through workshops, designed to feel relaxed, creative and welcoming. Whether you’re knotting for the first time or looking to refine your technique, I’m here to guide you, encourage you and help you discover the joy and beauty of creating something with your own hands.

Knit it’s not ..but it is a knot
That’s what I do ..
A craft not known to many ..that’s true
But certainly an art of knowing

It’s therapeutic and slow satisfying as fingers guide where soft cords go
Patience and thought
As strings turn and twist..it becomes a craft that one insists
Macrame a technique..don’t give it a miss

There’s beauty and calmness in movements like this..
A double half hitch ..a simple square ..wrapping knots with woven and care

There’s larks head too..where the loop begins ..
A knot that anchors the dance of pulled strings
With busy hands we craft and create
Hangers ..holders ..coasters that decorate

Don’t be dismayed if tangles get tied
It’s all calm ..as we align and unwind
Let’s enjoy as we weave and wind ..who would have thought knots would clear the mind
